A week ago I embarked on the Micellar #GarnierComeClean blogger challenge. If I’m being honest here, I had used the Garnier Micellar cleansing water before starting the challenge. I enjoyed using it, but did not make it a part of my daily routine. Now obviously because I was doing the week long challenge, I had to use it everyday which I did.

As a part of this #GarnierComeClean challenge, I received a few items along with the micellar cleansing water. Items included a Yankee candle, PUKKA Refresh tea, a water bottle & a note book to document my journey. I am a big tea & water drinker so I was very excited about the tea & water bottle (yeah I get excited for things like this).

I use make-up just about everyday with the exception of weekends, & my skin is sometimes affected by this. Just this week I had a pimple on my chin – if you follow my snapchat (brett_robson) then you’ve seen it. As mentioned above, I knew I liked this product before starting the challenge, but I had not tried using it in my daily routine. Prior to the #GarnierComeClean challenge, I was using the Garnier Pure Active Make-up Remover Purifying Gel to remove my make-up everyday.

I find the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water to be easy to use & absolutely great for my skin. Even stubborn make-up is effectively removed with one sweep of a cotton pad and with no harsh chemicals or detergents to irritate and inflame my skin – all this cleanser contains are tiny micelles (microscopic oil spheres) that dissolve impurities without stripping the skin. My skin feels soft & hydrated after use, without being oily. There is absolutely no tightness on my face after use. Also, as you may know I use lots of matte lipsticks which tend to stain my lips & leave them feeling very dry. However, after using the micellar cleansing water to remove my lipstick, my lips are left feeling hydrated & the stubborn colour is removed. I should also mention that this cleansing water is fragrance free which I love because I hate anything that smells chemically – if you get me. When it comes to waterproof mascara I found only about 90 – 95% of the mascara was removed, & I did have to go back with a waterproof eye make-up remover.

Garnier’s Micellar cleansing water retails for R79.99 for a 400ml bottle, which is HUGE! That is certainly bang for your buck as many of the other micellar waters retail for at least double that. Garnier promises 200 uses from the 400ml bottle which I think is accurate. Honestly, I have used this bottle all week & barely made a dent in it.

Overall, I think this is a great product which I will continue to use it to remove my make-up. Wearing make-up is great, but removing it can be a schlep right? Well, with the Garnier Micellar cleansing water your life can be that much much simpler. Try it & let me know your thoughts by commenting below 🙂 I would love to hear what you think.
