During September I travelled to China again, & whenever I travel I find myself getting super stressed about managing my blog & social media accounts. Being 6 hours ahead of South Africa means that when I am waking up, you’re going to sleep. And when I am going to bed, you’re having dinner. And then there’s the fact that I’m not always in a wifi zone. You get the picture right? So, today let’s talk: How to schedule your social media accounts. Now, even though I mainly apply scheduling of social media when I am travelling, this is perfect for you if you know you’re going to be busy & still want to keep up appearances on social media.

Facebook has been allowing us to schedule our posts for a while now, but by using the Hootsuite App, you can also schedule your Twitter & Instagram posts too. Hootsuite allows you to connect 3 accounts for FREE. I connected my Instagram, Facebook page & Twitter accounts. If you would like to connect more, you have to pay a monthly fee.

Signing up for Hootsuite is super easy.

  1. Visit Hootsuite
  2. Sign up
  3. Connect your accounts
  4. Schedule your posts
  5. Sit back & relax.

Scheduling & letting everything happen for itself is literally that simple for Twitter & Facebook – BUT when it comes to Instagram, things get a little more complex.  When it comes to scheduling an Instagram post using Hootsuite, it does not happen automatically. Hootsuite will send you an alert including the image and a note saying that the caption of the post has been copied. It will then prompt you to open your photo in Instagram, which you can do with a simple click, & then it’s done.

I suggest you try the Hootsuite App, & make managing your social media accounts simple & easy – even in the busiest of times. And don’t forget to let me know what you think of the App/website & if it was helpful to you.
