Last week I introduced you all to the Skip #MyFabulous campaign, & hosted the #MyFabulousDBN instawalk this past weekend (see post here). To recap, the #MyFabulous campaign was created to not only celebrate the new Skip Fabulous Edition pack (pictured below), but also to celebrate the unique style of each major city in our beautiful country.
Representing Durban is designer Sibu Msimang, who will be designing the #MyFabulousDBN designer collection inspired by Durban & the fabulous women in it. I have seen Sibu’s work on the runway & she is one of Durban’s hidden gems. We chatted last week, & she is absolutely sweet, even after a really busy day. I was curious to know if Sibu had a vision for the #MyFabulousDBN collection. I was pleased to hear that her vision is a wearable but still glam collection. I absolutely love that idea because if we are honest, the average woman does not have enough occasions to wear super fancy clothing.
While Sibu does have a vision for the #MyFabulousDBN designer collection, she will find colour, texture & other inspiration from you through the #MyFabulousDBN hashtag on Instagram. This is how you could WIN the 50K designer wardrobe inspired by your city. I caught your attention, right? Right.
Each week, @skipsouthafrica will announce weekly challenges on Instagram. The weekly challenges are how you can inspire the designers. For example, if the challenge is colour, you can upload a picture (as many as you like) that you feel represents your city in terms of colour inspiration. You will then use the hashtag #MyFabulousDBN / #MyFabulousJHB / #MyFabulousCPT in your caption. This is how you will help the respective designer find the inspiration you are sharing.
At the end of the #MyFabulous campaign, the designer will choose the person who has inspired their #MyFabulous designer collection the most. There will be 3 winners nationally who will each win their respective city’s collection. And each winner will have the respective collection tailored to fit them perfectly. An absolute dream prize.
