I get countless emails, snapchats (brett_robson if you didn’t know), tweets & messages on blogging. I am ashamed to say that I haven’t answered most of them. Unfortunately, I get caught up doing what I’m doing (work & such) & I have always thought that putting it our there for EVERYONE rather than just replying 1 person at a time would be much better. Initially I thought a Fashion Blogging 101 video on my YouTube channel would suffice, however after much thought I think a blog series would be more useful & informative.
Bloggers can be ‘funny’ about sharing information, contacts or tips with others. But I am a firm believer that there’s enough for everyone to get a slice of the pie. And if I’m being frank, we are not all on the same levels so that alone sets us a part from taking ‘work’ from the next blogger. And even if you may not think you’re as good as the next blogger, the most important thing here is that you want to better yourself, & better your blog. And that’s my goal with Fashion Blogging 101 | The Series by Brett Robson.
I have been blogging since January 2010, before ‘blogging’ was really a thing in South Africa. The blogesphere is extremely saturated at this point in 2015, because it has become the cool thing to do. ‘Hey I’m Brett & I’m a fashion blogger’. That does sound cool right? Well, over the past few years of being a fashion blogger in South Africa I have learnt a hell of a lot. I can talk to you about PR, marketing, social media, HTML coding, Photoshop, iMovie, Final Cut Pro & the list goes on. I can also talk to you about good experiences I’ve had, & the bad experiences too.
There are so many amazing things you can achieve through blogging, & I want to encourage you to be the best blogger you can be. And I will hopefully achieve exactly that through this blog series. I will publish 1 post a week in this series. I think this is going to be achievable because it’s not like an outfit post when I have to make time to shoot it. This is all about the information.
Now that I have told you what I would like to achieve with this blog series, I want to know from you if there are any topics you would like me to discuss or if you have any questions for me 🙂
