Don’t Conform. That’s a pretty powerful message Legit is sending out. The thing about society is that we are conditioned to conform from a young age. To colour inside the lines. I love that the LEGIT Don’t Conform collection with Punk & Ivy is encouraging us to take chances & be different. The older I get, the more I want to be different. I don’t want to be a sheep simply following. I don’t want to conform to what society expects of me.
My Facebook timeline tells me that I should be married, engaged, or having a baby – or three. Seriously, this is all I see on Facebook. And when I see it the only word that comes to mind is ‘NO’. Right now, my choice to not conform most certainly impacts my personal life. I am not capable of managing a relationship at this point in my life. I have the career I want. I have my business that is growing & I am not ashamed of the personal sacrifices I have made to achieve my goals. As I type this post, I am sitting in Dubai airport. Yeah I know, just a few weeks ago (last month) I was in London & Paris. This is my life.
I am the type of person who wants to give their all. And I wouldn’t be able to give my all to my career & business if I conformed to society’s expectations of me. I don’t think there is anything wrong with that. Some people aspire to have a family. There is nothing wrong with that either, but it’s not for everyone. And we shouldn’t judge those who choose otherwise for themselves.
I am interested to hear your thoughts on the topic of conforming. Be sure to leave a comment below.

This is too deep.I totally agree with you.As a young girl wanting to work her way up without any setbacks of a child/relationship this is inspiring from an established person’s point of view.Waking up everyday to do what you love, that can never be called a job but life itself – thank you for putting your dreams, aspirations and ambition before the pressures of your surroundings xx
Did I mention just how amazing you look – gurrrrrrrrrl you is a beast, hope you having a great time in China.
Love it! At the end of the day you are the only person that knows what makes you happy! Just do you
Powerful message indeed.I find myself like you surrounded by all getting married, having babies and divorced. And yes I want the first 2 but all in good time.I am different not a sheep often maybe the black sheep but who cares.Love the skirt.
