Almost 2 weeks ago I embarked on an amazing journey with Urban Decay SA; we jetted off to London for a whirlwind, #UDALLNIGHTER experience with the brand. We literally spent 1 night in London & it was nothing short of amazing!
The trip started off in Johannesburg where we all met to fly with Virgin Atlantic to London. I was so excited to be flying Virgin Atlantic because I had heard so many amazing things about the airline. The flight from Johannesburg was a night flight so I slept through most of it. But I did get a chance to enjoy a few hours of entertainment too. I finally got to watch The Shape Of Water. It’s hard to get to the cinema these days so I really appreciate an airline that has the latest in cinematic offerings. Â I also spent some time listening to bae G-Eazy. I absolutely LOVE his music. We flew economy with the airline. And Virgin Atlantic has actually just launched a variation of Economy options for patrons. There’s literally something for everyone. We stayed at the quirky & cool Moxy London Stratford. I love staying at cool places like this! It was such a vibe. The decor & overall set up was very cool. And the staff were great too. Although I must admit that one of my favourite things about this hotel was the was the breakfast set up; it reminded me of a cafeteria. And the pastries are so yum!
Getting ready for our #UDALLNIGHTER experience was a bit of a blur. I had just over an hour to get ready & boy did I make every second count! In my room I found the Urban Decay All Nighter foundation, along with the All Nighter concealer & obviously had to put them to the test. It was my first time using both products & I was very excited. For reference, I used shade 6.0 in the foundation, & shade Medium Light in the concealer. And obviously I set my face with the Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray! Before I go any further into what we got up to, I have to share one of the best things about this trip. Normally when I travel, I don’t bother getting a local data sim card. It just never seemed like a necessity. But on this 1 nighter in London, we were provided with B4iTravel packages which contained sim cards. What a game changer! No more looking for the nearest wifi hotspot for me. I’m going to LA soon, & I’m so excited that they have the same service for USA too. I’m definitely going to buy myself a sim card.
We spent our afternoon eating at one of the best taco joints ever, Breddos Tacos! I am a HUGE fan of tacos (hard & soft shell), & I loved every single thing that went into my mouth LOL. After tacos we enjoyed the most amazing masterclass with Urban Decay. The master class was hosted by Levi (@levijadetaylor). You have to check out her amazing make-up looks on Instagram. The class was hosted at the Urban Decay Boutique in Carnaby. It really was so special to be a part of the experience. It almost didn’t feel real you know. During the masterclass, I learnt so much from Levi. But I also learnt a lot from the questions the other ladies asked during the class. It’s so interesting to hear what other beauty enthusiasts think about certain products or learn how they apply make-up. Â
After the masterclass, we ventured off to Tonight Josephine for some cocktails. What a vaab! I have to go back on my next trip to London! It was pink, with neon signs; cool music with lots of dancing; & just an overall really great place. I really enjoyed it. From Tonight Josephine we went off to dinner at Trapeze Bar & Basement, which was also a treat. Food, atmosphere & cool drinks! What a night! We ended off our #UDALLNIGHTER experience with a slumber party at the hotel. It really was a whirlwind, crazy amazing day. Everyone was pretty exhausted, so we pretty much slept after our slumber party. Not surprising after our day though.Â
Before we embarked on our journey back home, we spent the day sightseeing around London. We visited London Eye, Trafalgar Square & did the bus tour too. This was by far one of my most memorable trips. Not only was it amazing for me to be able to travel with a brand that I adore. But I also developed new friendships & strengthen existing friendships. I am also so grateful that I got do step out of my comfort zone & do things that I don’t usually do. It was just amazing. Looking back on it now, & typing this post genuinely makes me feel so happy.
