I can’t believe it’s August already. Time has flown by so fast. I remember saying just the other day that I am not going to be travelling for 2 months, and BOOM my ‘rest’ is over. I will be travelling at the end of August. While I am not sure of where we are going, I am secretly hoping for New York. I haven’t been to NYC since last year so this will be a treat.

August not only means travel plans for me, it also means we are that much closer to warm weather (which I love). You guys know that I hate the cold. And let me tell you, Durban has been cold of late! But lucky for us, Spring & then Summer is just around the corner.  Thus bringing me to the topic of today’s post: Winter to Spring Transitional Dressing.

I feel like the knit sweater is a timeless transitional piece that every woman should own. I picked up this knit sweater at the Zara sale a few weeks ago, & have been wearing it non-stop since. In this look, I am only wearing a bralette under the sweater, however most of you would rather opt for a tank top. Wearing something light underneath is perfect for days when the sun may be out, but there could also be a slight chill in the air too. On a colder day you can swap out the tank top for a button up shirt (denim, plaid or white would look great) for a more covered up layered look. And even if it gets warmer throughout the day, you can take the sweater off without feeling like you’re ‘bare’ underneath.

When I purchased this sweater, the colour was most certainly something that drew me in. The colour so beautifully fits into both the Winter & Spring colour palette. Thus bringing me to the topic of colour when it comes transitional dressing. Don’t be afraid to wear bright, bold colours when crossing over from Winter to Spring. Just because Winter was drab & dreary, it doesn’t mean you have to take that into the next season. Adding colour to your style is a fresh way to update your look instantly.
