My under eye area is not only quite dark, but quite dehydrated too. Often I wake up & they look very very dark. And while I do use eye cream on the area, I haven’t found that there’s much of a difference in all these years. That being said, I do find that using under eye masks / patches in the morning help the appearance of my dark circles, & hydrate the area a little. I should mention that I have not seen any long term benefits from using under eye patches, but they do most certainly improve the appearance of darkness & puffiness momentarily. Today I am sharing a few of my must-have eye masks / patches.

Pro Tip: Keep your eye masks in the fridge. The coolness will help reduce swelling of puffy eyes. And it gives a soothing affect on the skin.

Skin Republic Collagen Hydragel Under Eye Patch

I love this gel under eye patch so much! I usually buy it from Clicks or Takelot. The pack comes with 3 pairs of eye patches inside. I find that after use it does improve the appearance of my dark circles. The product is said to smooth the appearance of fine lines & wrinkles, although I have yet to notice anything. It contains collagen, green tea, aloe vera, Vitamin A & E.

Original JAYJUN Green Tea Roselle Hydrogel Eye Gel Patch

This is one of my absolute favourite gel eye patches ever! If I am not mistaken I purchased it in Hong Kong last year some time. The green tea reduces puffiness by shrinking the blood vessels.  I honestly use this product more often that any other. I tried my best to find it in South Africa, but I did find it on eBay if you’re willing to go through the trouble. It is a Korean product, so you may be able to find it via one of the Korean beauty supply stores locally.

I did find the Petitfee Black Pearl & Gold Hydrogel Eye Patch locally (a similar product). I have used this before the Jayjun eye patch and they are just as good. I really enjoyed them. Purchase here.

Skin Republic Brightening Eye Mask

This is like a superhero mask, don’t you think? The Brightening Eye Mask contains triple action eye serum that targets the entire eye area for bright, youthful looking eyes. Vitamins C and B3, coffee bean and green tea brighten dark circles and restore radiance to tired looking eyes. I don’t use this eye mask as often as the others, because I prefer the single eye patch under each eye. Personal preference lol.  The pack conatins 3 masks inside.

Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery Eye Mask

the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair Concentrated Recovery Eye Mask is infused with the brands famous Advanced Night Repair technology. I like that the liquid is not mixed with the eye patch. You have to break the seal to let the liquid saturates the pads. It plumps the skin & makes it look more hydrated almost instantly. The pack contains 4 pairs of eye patches, & is a little more on the pricey side in comparison to the other brands. Is it worth it? I think so.

I’m not sure why but I cannot find this on any of the local websites. I tried Foschini, Estee Lauder & Edgars. Perhaps it’s been discontinued. If you have an answer, let me know.

So, now that I shared a few of my must-have eye masks & patches, I’d really love it if you could share yours. I love trying new products, especially when it comes to masking so leave a comment below with some suggestions!
