I am a huge fan of using face masks. I have been masking almost everyday during our COVID-19 lockdown here in South Africa. I was chatting with a friend about my favourite face masks, & thought it would be great to share the information with you guys too.

So here goes, these are the face masks I love & absolutely swear by!

The L’oreal Pure Clay product range is one of my favourites. I have used all the Pure Clay masks, but I do have a few favourites that I’d like to mention.

L’OREAL PURE CLAY DETOX MASK

This super-charged face mask contains charcoal which aids in detoxifying the skin. I use this mask if I have been wearing lots of make-up & need to detox my skin. The Detox Mask gets deep into the pores & clears out the impurities & dirt. Immediately after applying the mask you will feel it working. It usually takes about 10-15 minutes to dry down completely. I think this product is a great dupe for the Glamglow Supermud Clearing Treatment but is available at a fraction of the price.

L’OREAL PURE CLAY BLEMISH RESCUE

The Blemish Rescue mask will literally come to the rescue when you need it! I use this mask when I have zits popping up. This face mask contains seaweed in it which aids in clearing the skin. I am pictured wearing this cool blue face mask above.

SKIN REPUBLIC YOUTHFOIL™️ AGE DEFYING FOIL FACE MASK

I love the YOUTHFOIL™️ age defying Foil Face Mask Sheet by Skin Republic. This is really an OG for me, & I did review it before – here. YOUTHFOIL™️ contains a double dose of Hyaluronic Acid in it. If you’re not familiar with Hyaluronic Acid, is is said to attract & hold moisture, thus helping the skin look plump & firm. I have been using this face mask on & off for the past few years. While I can’t say that I have seen any long-term benefits from using it, I do most certainly see that my skin looks great after use.

Available via Takealot for R75

SKIN REPUBLIC 24K GOLD PEEL OFF FACE MASK

As I type this, I have realised that I have to purchase more of these. The 24K Gold Peel Off Mask is a big part of my routine. The formula contains 24K gold, rooibos extract and sea water which aids in transforming the texture and tone of your skin. Each sachet contains 3 uses worth of product.

MAGICSTRIPES DEEP DETOX TIGHTENING MASK

I simply had to mention this mask in my post, because even though I have only used it on one occassion, I really did see why they call it MAGIC! MAGICSTRIPES is not as easily available as the other masks mentioned above, but it is worth it! I was sent this in PR last year & only just recently used it. This is a sheet mask that has ultra-fine clay particles in it. This mask deeply cleanses & detoxes the skin. I also found that the appearnce of my pores was severly minimised after use. I really wish I was in CT, because I would buy more of this one in a heart beat.

Available via Chelsea Clinic & Spa in Cape Town

CLINIQUE ANTI-BLEMISH SOLUTIONS OIL-CONTROL CLEANSING MASK

I first tried this mask about 2 years ago, & I have kept it in my box of tricks since. This clay-based mask helps clear blemishes & prevent breakouts. And it’s got the added benefit of keeping the skin shine-free. This mask gets deep down to unclog pores & get rid of the excess oils. I use this mask once a week.

Available via Foschini for R561 or any Clinique beauty counter nationwide.

KIEHL’S ULTRA FACIAL OVERNIGHT HYDRATING MASQUE

This overnight wonder will intensely hydrate your skin, & leave you waking up to plump, hydrated skin. Infused with Fountain Plant, Glacial Proteins and Desert Plant Extract, this overnight face mask helps smooth and soften skin while you sleep. After cleansing & toning my skin at night, I use this overnight hydrating masque. I do not go in with any other oils, moisturisers etc. Before going to bed, I use a tissue to gently dab off the excess product, & then I sleep. I use this mask once a week or every second week, it just depends what my skin needs.

Available via Edgars for R550

As always I hope you have found this post helpful. I love sharing the products I love. If you have a favourite face mask you think I will like, be sure to leave a comment with it down below. Happy masking!
