As an absolute RED Lipstick Addict, I would just like to say how excited I am to share today’s beauty review with you. I honestly have tons of red lipsticks in all sorts of shades & tones. The thing I love most about red lipstick (of any shade) is that it can brighten up any look. If you decide on a minimal make-up look, it’s so easy to look glam & oh-so-chic by adding a little pop of colour on the lips.
Now, for this fabulous range of fabulous reds.
L’Oreal Paris has launched a range of red lipsticks to suit every woman of every skin colour. I am olive toned so I get away with many reds, but for fairer or darker skinned women, I often hear complaints of them have difficulty finding a suitable red lipstick.
I have been playing with 3 shades from the Pure Reds collection:
Fire Rouge (Doutzen) “Lips in a blazing tangerine red sophistication”
Garnet Rouge (Laetitia) “Unprecedented garnet red almost dark lips”
Amaranthe Rouge (Freida) “Lips that flirt with fuchsia for a flower red”
My thoughts:
I think these are absolutely stunning lipsticks. Going into summer, Doutzen & Freida are definitely on my list of lipsticks to wear this season. But even so, Laetitia is very much my kind of Autumn/Winter shade.
The packaging is black & gold, very classy looking. The black bullet is embossed-looking & feels sturdy, definitely not like cheap plastic.
They apply so smoothly, & as someone who wears matte lipsticks very often – it almost doesn’t feel like I am wearing a matte. I find the formula to be quite moisturising. I like that.

**Please excuse the shiny face surrounding my lip swatches. I think it was the flash. Anyway, I hate getting so close up like that. It honestly feels so invasive, but if I can be totally honest here – my hair was a mess & that was all I could let you guys see. Having short hair is no joke – high maintenance.
