I am all smiles about Zara launching their first store on South African soil…because that means soon Durban will have their very own Zara store at Gateway Theatre of Shopping. I would’ve loved to have attended the Sandton launch, but unfortunately work has kept me super busy. But I do plan on making an effort to attend the Gateway launch. I did manage to find some pictures from the Sandton launch to share with you. What do you think?

I WAS EAGERLY AWAITING THE OPENING OF ZARA IN SANDTON AS IVE HEARD SO MUCH ABOUT THEM BUT I MUST SAY I WAS VERY DISAPPOINTED YESTERDAY WHEN I WENT TO SUSS THEM OUT !! THE STORE HAS A BEAUTIFUL SHOPFRONT BUT THAT IS WHERE IT ENDS – THE INSIDE IS NOTHING LIKE THE PICTURES ABOVE – THE DISPLAYS ARE UNTIDY AND VERY HAPHAZARD AND IM AFRAID THE PRICES ARE WAY BEYOND WHAT YOU PAY IN LISBON AT ZARA – THE BASIC T-SHIRT COSTING R199 – COMPARING TO A GUESS T SHIRT OF THE SAME PRICE TAG I MUST SAY THAT QUALITY WISE THEY DO NOT COMPARE- THE SANDALS – VERY BASIC AT R659 ARE ALSO VERY OVERPRICED !! HOWEVER I HAVE IT ON GOOD AUTHORITY THAT THEIR STOCK IS CHANGED AS OFTEN AS EVERY 2 WEEKS AND SALES ARE HELD TO GET RID OF THE OLD STOCK – SO I WILL WATCH OUT FOR THE REGULAR SALES AS THEY DO HAVE SOME NICE THINGS THAT I WOULD BUY AT CHEAPER PRICES
IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO KNOW WHAT THEIR OPENING SALS FIGURES LOOKED LIKE AS THERE WAS A DEFINITE OPENING HYPE FROM THURSDAY UNTIL YESTERDAY !!LOOKING FORWARD TO SOMETHING BETTER FROM THEM IN THE NEAR FUTURE

@Lilian Im so sorry your Zara experience wasn’t as great as expected. The pictures above were from the opening night. And Im sure with all the hype around the store opening, the first week must’ve been hectic. But at the same time, I work in visual merchandising, and I know how important it is to be costantly making sure everything looks amazing. Do keep me posted on your t-shirt. I would love to hear about Zara’s qaulity standards. Yes, they ahve new merchandise shipped in on a weekly basis, so you can look forward to that. I hope your next Zara experience goes a lot better 🙂
