This won’t be my first time reviewing the L’Oréal Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear Foundation. I first did a review on this foundation in 2014 when I wore  it almost all the time. I also did a video demo which you can view here.  Back in 2014, the foundation was called ‘Stay Fresh’ whereas now it’s called ‘Fresh Wear’. Anyway, if you haven’t seen it, do check it out because younger Brett was a cutie lol.

L’Oréal is calling the Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear Foundation their most lightweight, breathable longwear foundation. I love that L’Oréal is promoting this product as something for the woman on the go; or simply just for anyone with that has a non-stop lifestyle. I can relate so much to that because I am always on the go; & I’m always busy doing something. And I totally agree with the idea that you shouldn’t have to worry about your make-up. Who has time for that?! I like to put my make-up on & keep it moving; no looking back.

According to the brand, the L’Oréal Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear Foundation is sweat proof, water proof, transfer proof & breathable. And of course the big selling point is 24 hour wear; which although I don’t recommend you wear foundation for 24 hours straight, I do think this is a selling point when it comes to any foundation. Another feature L’Oréal is promoting is the NEW Oxygen Technology used in this foundation. “Backed by the innovative oxygen technology, INFAILLIBLE 24H FRESH WEAR stays on longer, feels lighter, & looks fresher hour by hour. It’s unique association of oils, long-lasting polymers & pigments ensures lightness, moisture & natural fresh finish while letting the skin breathe all day.”

My thoughts…

The L’Oréal Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear Foundation retails for R230.00 for a 30ml bottle. The price is great for a longwear foundation & the 30ml bottle would likely last you months, even if you wear a full face all the time. In South Africa we have 16 shades available for purchase via various retailers such as Clicks, Dis-Chem & online via Takealot. Takealot has them on sale for 50% OFF at the moment & they are selling for R115 which is a BARGAIN of note!!! Check it out here. With regard to the shade range, the international L’Oréal website does have 30 shades available but it is not unusual for a brand to only bring a portion of the offering to countries like South Africa. That being said, I do think the selection they brought is ok for our market. There are 4 shades in the 100 range; 5 shades in the 200 range; & 7 shades in the 300 range. The shade numbers are different in the international website, however I did notice that there were 2 shades darker than Espresso which is the darkest colour here in SA. Those 2 shades are Mahogany & Ebony. So, technically we could go a little darker, you feel me? Also, for shade reference I used to wear 250 Radiant Sand, however now I use a mix of 250 Radiant Sand + 220 Sand.

My skin is very well behaved at present. I am pretty impressed with it to be honest. That being said, even though I don’t necessarily use foundation to cover up anything, I do still enjoy wearing a full face of foundation. I really just love that foundation evens out my skin. The ‘breathable’ selling point of this foundation makes me happy because I have been loving how my skin looks & feels. So, the fact that my skin can breathe when I am wearing foundation is a huge bonus. The last thing I want when wearing a foundation is feeling the need to take it off because I feel like it’s too much. I’ve worn the foundation 4 or 5 times now & my skin can absolutely breathe when wearing it. In fact, I would say my skin feels light. I applied the foundation with a sponge on all occasions because that is what I am comfortable with, & found that it blended well into the skin. Whenever I try something new, I use it with products that are in my GO-TO list because I need to see how it performs with products I trust. I also like to try foundation with & without primer underneath. This foundation worked well both ways. On the occasion of these images being taken, I did not use a primer. The L’Oréal Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear Foundation was applied after my skincare routine. And I’m sure you can tell it looks pretty good!

On all occasions, I wore the foundation for no more than 8 hours, & it lasted very well. The area I do struggle with is around my nose. Foundation often breaks apart in that area because I find myself blowing my nose all day. After a few hours of wear my nose area was a little broken up but not much, & as mentioned – my runny nose is to blame. I have noticed that I have become a little oily with age. However, I only lightly dust powder on my forehead & undereye area. I wouldn’t say I looked oily after a few hours, but I did have a healthy glow – which I personally like.

Overall, my opinion has not changed on the L’Oréal Infaillible 24H Fresh Wear Foundation. In 2014 I was very fond of it, & I’m so glad it’s made it’s way back into my life now in 2018 because it’s reminded me of how much I like it. I know I’m a total foundation whore, but foundation is one of my favourite beauty products. If you’re on the market for a new foundation, or like me just like to have 10 foundations in rotation – then try this out. It’s bang for your buck & does a great job!
