Get my Everyday Glam Make-Up look today, by trying out these products below. I created this look the other day, just before shooting with Jerome. He was running late, & so I took a little time to actually think of what I wanted to do with my face, & not just go for the ‘normal’ look. I opted for the dark blue on my lower lash line – which I might add looks much better in person – & a pretty pink lip.
Here’s a little chit chat about each of these products:
1. Maybelline Colour Sensational Lipstick 185 Plushest Pink
I am so in love with this colour from the Maybelline Colour Sensational lipstick range. This was one of my favourite lip colours when I filmed my colour swatch video. If you haven’t seen it – watch here. The formula of this lipstick is so moisturising & I have been wearing these constantly for weeks now.
Retails for R119.95 & is available at Clicks, Dis-Chem etc.
2. Essence Soft Touch Mousse Make-Up 02 Matt Beige
This has been one of my Go-To foundations for over a month now. I love the matte finish, & I especially love how long lasting it is. I have a full review on this product, so be sure to read it here.
3. Maybelline Master Kajal Khôl Liner ‘Lapis Blue’
I honestly didn’t expect to like this product as much as I do. At the Maybelline 100 party in Johannesburg, they had ‘make your own goodie bag’ stations where I picked this product up. At first I really wasn’t sure how I wanted to use it, but now I know that it works best on the lower lash line. I used this khôl liner with a blue shadow on top of it, & blended the two products together. I feel like the picture isn’t doing it justice at all. And to be honest, my eyes were tearing (because of wind) so you can see my under eye area is a little moist. Another use for this one is to be used on your eyelid as a base for a dark blue shadow. It was really hold it in place, & the colour will pop so that it looks all sorts of awesome.
4. Kat Von D Tattoo Liner
I know this product isn’t available in South Africa, but I wanted to mention it because I think it is one of the best liners on the market right now. I purchased this liner in a mini 2 pack by Kat Von D with the liner & mascara by the brand. I am yet to try the mascara but if I judged it based on this liner, I can safely say that I would love it too. The liner is super long lasting. Funny story. I got lash extensions a few weeks ago, & wasn’t supposed to use any oil-based products on my eyes. Well I have no clue what is & isn’t oil-based so when I wanted liner I just YOLO’d & used this Kat Von D liner because I am a rebel & all. The problem came when I had to remove it. I was too scared, so I stayed with it on for about 3 days. I literally just touched up the wings in the morning when doing my make-up & avoided that area when I washed my face. And when I say ‘touch up’ I really mean I barely did anything. Really amazing product. If you ever get the chance to buy it – just do it! And get the full size 🙂
A similar formula liner that I love as well is the L’Oreal So Couture Super Liner. And if you want to see how I do my winged liner, see the post – here.
I hope you guys have enjoyed this post. It is something a little different than what I am used to doing, but I thought it would be fun to try. If you’ve enjoyed it, be sure to let me know down below 🙂
Hi there! Where did you get the KvD liner from?? Is there any way to get it here in SA? Possibly by shipping?
Thanks!
Hey Tarin, you are the 10th person to ask me this week, & honestly I would be asking too. It really is great!
Unfortunately I don’t know of anyone is SA that sells it, but I have a way to get products that don’t ship to SA & have been thinking of sharing it in a blog post. Look out for that. It may be useful to you 🙂
xx
